Time Out on the Running Boards, We're Running Through a World That Lost Its Meaning

In response to Weck's question yesterday, I will be making my first appearance as an alumnus at ACU Homecoming this year. I look forward to eating hashbrowns, eggs, and orange juice very early in the morning and booing at Sibling skits.
Trust me, whatever the Siblings come up with this year, I know it will not be worse than the debacle that BATTLE class participated in during Homecoming 2003. We had the brilliant idea of each going up to the microphone and telling a short joke. Yes, all 38 of us. (Field, Galarraga, and Robarts R.I.P.)

I still remember Patty V's because it was so bad.
Patty V: "What do you call a fish without any eyes? FSSSSSSSSSSSSSSH."

I used the Jerry Seinfeld standby: "Maybe it's just me, but shouldn't they make the entire airplane out of the little black box?" It went over like a lead balloon. I did get to eat the biscuit that was thrown at me though, so it wasn't all bad.

Thanks for the shout-out. Sometimes I wish I'd stuck around that year. But I did what I needed to do. And life goes on.

Hopefully I was the best RIP'er...

Chris,

You were the best R.I.P.'er by far. Also, I understood why you did what you did.

Much love,

Justin

Well, thanks J Scott. I appreciate that. I've only heard that about 5 times since then. No, really.

Any marathons coming up? I'm debating about Austin in February. But I don't know...

Field - you and Carlson and Moreland need to enjoy an Aramark breakfast together this year at Homecoming and bury the proverbial hatchet.

Joel-

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make Homecoming this year.

Although I was around everyone for another year and that never happened so I'm not sure that there would be much to discuss.

I'm old, and can't quite remember Field. For this I blame myself, and the heavy drinking. If Moreland and I did something to him — and I'm pretty sure we must have — let me take this opportunity to apologize, and to say I'm glad it didn't the guy off club completely. I won't be able to make it to Homecoming, either, but somebody be sure and lob a biscuit at the head of the most out of shape Sibling there, and tell him it's from me, his spiritual ancestor.

Patty V's joke was awful.

Did BATTLE even stand for anything?

I can't believe people used to think I was Cal.

Wait, I remember Field.

Sorry about that, man.

Before all there's the Lord every day.

"So a horse walks into a bar. The bartender says, 'Why the long face?' Get it? Get it?!?"

Kaibo,

Who are you? I ask because I don't want to rack my brain trying to figure out the clever significance of the name of that you have chosen for yourself.

Okay. What's the secondary meaning for BATTLE?

You guys seem like a crazy bunch. I saw that one of you said that you like trucks--have you ever thought of National running boards? That would be really cool.

Keep being crazy!
