Was Some Shakin' and Some Record Playin'

Through the first 9 games of the 2009 season, the scorelines for each game played by the Rangers look like this:
  1. 9-1 win over Cleveland
  2. 8-5 win over Cleveland
  3. 12-8 win over Cleveland
  4. 15-2 loss to Mogadishu on the St. Clair, ahem, Detroit
  5. 4-3 loss to Detroit
  6. 6-4 loss to Detroit
  7. 10-9 loss to Baltimore
  8. 7-5 loss to Baltimore
  9. 19-6 win over Baltimore
Whether it's a 3-game sweep over the Indigenous Persons Residing Near the Convergence of the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie to start the season, the subsequent 5-game losing streak to the Motor City Kitties and the O's, or last night's blowout win accented by Ian Kinsler hitting for the cycle, I'll say this about the 2009 season in Arlington: It doesn't look like it's going to be boring.

When are we getting some commentary on what was surely one of the most exciting Champions League matches in recent history? Are you still licking your wounds? Given the hill you (almost) climbed, I'd think you wouldn't be too disappointed.

John,

Considering that you, me, and possibly 2-3 others that are somehow associated with this blog would actually care about Tuesday's events at Stamford Bridge, I'm debating a post.

You are right, though, that a 4-4 scoreline (especially given the past results between Chelsea and Liverpool) was an exciting, although not entirely enjoyable, result.

I cry foul on that logic. You post about Liverpool all the time when precious few readers "actually care" - and if you aren't playing the Blues, you can't even count me among the enthralled. I think if you had won we would have had some YNWA propaganda without a doubt, irrespective of the wishes of your readership.

If it was too much of a stomach punch to talk about, I get that. But don't blame reader apathy for the subject - you just posted about the Rangers, after all.

Besides, consider me the vocal minority. If the Dems can get an initiative going for high speed trains, then we can get an insightful Justin post on the game.

Yes we can!

John,

Due to your persistence, a post will be forthcoming in the morning on the roller-coaster ride that was this Tuesday's 4-4 draw between Liverpool and Spartak London.

Mogadishu on the St. Clair? Oh, brother.

Port Huron (or, "Port Urine" in the vernacular) is on the Huron ("Urine") River, while Detroit is on the Detroit River. Lake St. Clair connects the two, but doesn't really front Detroit for more than a bit.

Prof. Osler,

My deepest apologies for my geographic shortcomings. If the geography of Southeast Michigan comprises a large part of the Crim. Prac. and Pro. final, I might be in a bit of a tight spot.
