You Can Crush It but It's Always Near
After seeing a consecutive blogging streak that stretched back to November 25th broken with no post yesterday, the only way to begin this new year that some are calling "2008" is with a renewed commitment to excellence. I realize that the Oakland/L.A. Raiders and their tracksuit wearing owner Al Davis probably own some sort of trademark on that particular phrase, but if you won't tell, I won't tell.
Speaking of Al, I'm pretty sure that he falls into the same situation outlined by Bill Simmons to explain the relative silence in recent years of the Grand Chancellor of the Evil Empire himself, one George Steinbrenner. The Sports Guy hypothesizes that The Boss (Steinbrenner, not Springsteen) is actually hooked up to life-support in the basement of his mansion in much the same way that the original, yet evil, President was sustained in the movie Dave.
I'll be sure to keep everyone apprised on the search for the real Al Davis.
