Well, I Just Got Into Town About an Hour Ago
Wall Street Journal sports reporter (yes, there is such a position) Allen Barra has a piece in today's WSJ with the headline "Heisman is No Key to NFL Glory." In other shocking news, the Rangers didn't make the playoffs last year, and the sun will rise in the east tomorrow morning. Tell me what I didn't already know, Mr. Barra.
I appreciate everyone that worked through the Washington Post candidate quiz yesterday and took the time to post your thoughts and results in the comments section. I do agree with many of you that when I was forced to choose between statements anonymously, I usually gravitated towards the responses that contained some type of systematic approach to the issue rather than some nebulous pronouncement on whatever happened to float across the candidate's cerebral cortex during a press junket or debate.
In our weekly journey across the pond to jolly old (or as Professor Guinn might say, "Mother") England to check on dear, dear Liverpool F.C., we find the Reds doing remarkably well. Last Sunday's match with the Bolton Wanderers resulted in a 4-nil Liverpool victory and goals from Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Ryan Babel, and Sami Hyppia. Here is the goal from Torres after a superb pass from Mr. Gerrard.
